I am not planning on voting for either McCain or Obama(1) so when I decided to write this post it was because I find this idea truly intriguing and the possible repercussions disturbing. What I’m talking about is Obama’s birth certificate law suit.
The suit was brought at the end of August by Democratic faithful, and lawyer, Philip Berg. Berg brought the suit because he contends that Obama was born outside the United States, holds dual citizenship and/or has never been naturalized or has not revoked his citizenship with a country other than the United States. T
here is no electoral function or method to verify that a candidate for President is a natural US citizen.
In response to the suit, Obama and the DNC have not provided the court requested documentation but have instead filled a motion to dismiss the suit. The suit simply asks Obama to provide -
1) Certified copy of his original long-version Birth Certificate; 2) Certified copy of his Certification of Citizenship; and 3) Certified copy of his Oath of Allegiance.
If this is a no brainer for Obama and the DNC and the documentation exists, why not simply provide it and end the questions?
The background of the suit is that it is rumored that Obama was not born in Hawaii as his “Certificate of Birth”(2) claims. Some claim(3) that his mother gave birth in Kenya and then flew to Hawaii where the Certificate of Birth was filled. If this is true, then Obama is not eligible to be President. If it is not true then there are other issues to be resolved.
The next issue is his, now admitted, dual citizenship with Kenya. According to Obama this only lasted until Aug. 4, 1982, his 21st birthday, according to terms of the The British Nationality Act of 1948 (Kenya was, at the time, a British colony)(4) .
Another allegation is that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, used an Indonesian passport to travel to Pakistan. According to WorldNetDaily -
The lawsuit then claims an investigation has shown that in 1981, “Obama traveled to Pakistan using his Indonesian passport. At the time of travels to Indonesia, Obama was 20 years old. He was well aware he maintained his Indonesia citizenship, and failed to regain his United States citizenship. … Even if Obama maintained his United States Citizenship, which he failed to do, he also carries citizenship’s in Kenya and Indonesia. Obama has divided loyalties with foreign countries. Thus, Obama carries multiple citizenship’s and is ineligible to run for President of the United States.”
A WND investigation could not find any proof Obama used an Indonesian passport to travel to Pakistan. However, WND noted that Pakistan in 1981 was under military rule and that it was difficult for U.S. citizens to travel to the country without assistance – meaning, it would have been easier to enter Pakistan on an Indonesian passport.
From Texas Hill Country we get the basis for some of the concern over the validity of the Obama Certificate of Birth displayed on his website -
A few months after the controversy began, a copy of one was put on the internet… but very quickly was called a fake by a variety of imaging experts, and blank templates of Hawaiian birth certificates were found in the online photohosting account of one of the contributors to the site that released the copy of the online version… adding fuel to the fire.
FactCheck.org trys to debunk claims that the Certificate of Birth shown on the Obama website is a forgery. One of the sections of the post that I found interesting was -
In fact, the conspiracy would need to be even deeper than our colleagues realized. In late July, a researcher looking to dig up dirt on Obama instead found a birth announcement that had been published in the Honolulu Advertiser on Sunday, Aug. 13, 1961:

The announcement was posted by a pro-Hillary Clinton blogger who grudgingly concluded that Obama “likely” was born Aug. 4, 1961 in Honolulu.
Of course, it’s distantly possible that Obama’s grandparents may have planted the announcement just in case their grandson needed to prove his U.S. citizenship in order to run for president someday. We suggest that those who choose to go down that path should first equip themselves with a high-quality tinfoil hat. The evidence is clear: Barack Obama was born in the U.S.A.
What strikes me is that the announcement is published 9 days after Obama’s birth and 5 days after the Certificate of Birth was filled(5) . Since Obama was born on a Friday(6) , and the Certificate of Birth was filled on a Tuesday why the wait until the following Sunday to publish the announcement? I can see that a majority of them (birth notices) are published then. Just seems odd. Not out of the ordinary as there is at least one from the image above with the same birth date. Also, being happy grand parents, it would not surprise me that they would publish a birth announcement using the information that Obama’s mother gave them.
Now, to the point of the post.
With the DNC and Obama filing a motion to dismiss the suit, it potentially pushes the judges ruling out until after the November election. Should Obama be elected and should it be found then that Obama was not eligible to be President due to either not being a natural born citizen or to holding dual citizenship then what happens? Its left up to Congress. Should this happen, given Congress’ recent “honorable” actions, will they do the right thing?
What will that do to the faith, if any, the public has for the major political parties? At the least this would cause a personal if not Constitutional Crisis.
So, I ask the question again – If this is a no brainer for Obama and the DNC and the documentation exists, why not simply provide it and end the questions? Wouldn’t that be the best thing for the Democratic party and Obama in the long run? It would sure put a crimp in the whole Hope message, wouldn’t it?

Birth Certificates are SIGNED BY THE PARENTS!!! and are a lot more detailed than this garbage these conmen keep trotting out as PROOF!

Yes there is a birth certificate that you usually get that has the feet prints, weight, length and parents signature; however, that is not a legal document. If you want to prove your birth at DMV, SS or multitude of other places you need the one shown above with a seal on it. Been there, done that, numerous times for my two boys.
As far as Obama and Bill Ayers goes- let’s see I worked as a bookkeeper for a Chevy dealership at one time and the owner was a coke addict and arrested hmm does that make me the same as him with the same views. We sat in numerous meetings together?? Ummm don’t think so. Once you can show me proof with valid links then I will believe what I read until then just telling me the connections does nothing for me.

Cathy, why is it that everybody else in this Campaign has released their REAL Birth Certificate to the Federal Election Committee, and the best that Obama can come up with is this ” G-E-D ” form of Birth Certificates? This is Not the Honorable thing to issue, when the Laws state what must used to determine legitimacy.

From the misinformation and obfuscation of BHSO Birth, especially considering that there is Eyewitness Evidence that was given by BHSO’s Paternal Grandmother and other family members that state they were there at BHSO’s Birth in KENYA! BHSO’s Mother was Denied an Airline Ticket to fly out of Kenya due to her Advanced state of Pregnancy, and considered it too risky to all involved.
Then when the Kenyan Newspapers first reported on BHSO’s Candidacy, IN BOLD HEADLINES, stated that he was a KENYAN candidate Running for President, but has since “Scrubbed” their archives of that Article. Libyan Leader Khadaffi was quoted as saying that BHSO was a Native Born African and a Muslim to Boot! Also the Kenyan Government refuses to allow any searches of their birth records to determine whether or not, BHSO’s Birth is recorded there, and the same applies to the Hospitals and/or clinics. There is also evidence or there should be in two other locations, as Kenya was a British colony at the time, and the Hospitals were managed by Italian Missionaries, but both of them, refuse to do any seatches without the Expressed Written Permission of BHSO, of which he so far has not given!
So how does all of this apply to BHSO? As a Kenyan Male Muslim, and under the Laws of the Country, BHSO’s Mother was considered Property of BHSO’s Father, and Custody of the her Children are automatically assigned to the Father. Kenya does not recognize any American laws, except those that may apply to International Business such as Airports, Airplanes, ships, etc. But laws such esoteric civil rights are not observed or respected.

Thanks for the link. I also think that it is highly likely that Obama was born in HI at the time he has stated, but the whole circumstance is just weird and they are oddly defensive about it.
AFAIK, The only ones to examine the supposed paper copy of the Certificate Of Live Birth is an investigator from Fact Check. Why not the judges in the 3 lawsuits currently in court questioning his citizenship? Why not the press? Why not everyone?
What is not advertized is that Fact Check is owned by Chicago Annenberg.. An organization for which Barack Obama was once a board member… kind of odd?
There are stories about Anne Dunham being in Kenya in the days surrounding Obama’s birth, and in those days, they did not let pregnant women fly… like ever. They let them smoke LOL, but not fly.
It is also curious that Sarah Obama, Barack’s “Grandma” says that he was born in Kenya…
and then Obama’s half-sister said that Obama was born in a different hospital than Barack claimed…
then a birth certificate is released by DailyKos? Why Kos? That’s weird… Why not NYT or WaPo or CNN or Fox… Kos?
Then the Kos contributor is found to be in possession of Hawaiian birth certificate templates?
Like I said… I think he is telling the truth about this, but the circumstances sure are weird?
