Or, what I don’t like about John.
I’m still railing on the EESA passage. After I get this off my chest I’ll pen, or type, more on McCain in other areas.
McCain, who has recently stated that he will – should he be elected – VETO any legislation that shows up on his Oval Office desk if it contains any pork. Yes, that is a laudable position but it does little to win me over for his leadership, or lack of leadership, in getting EESA passed.
As I’ve said, the EESA bill had more pork added than I have seen. Thats a lot of bacon (or Bacn). McCain, who is ANTI-Pork voted FOR the bill. He didn’t argue that at this grave time we, The People, didn’t need to have Congress pass an additional $150 billion off on us. Congress knew that the People were watching them and still they added this to the bill and passed it.
A reasonable thing for McCain to do would have been to remove support for the bill until all the porquine, added during what must have been a wonderful drinking party – how else would you explain it? -, was removed from the bill and it only addressed the purpose of the bill. Taking an extra day would have done no harm and would have shown the public that he can, and does and will walk the walk and talk the talk.
That is when McCain lost me. He had the ability to hold my confidence and he threw it out like a used diaper.

Jim,
So taking a pass, or merely voting present, not sticking to his guns should be overlooked? I dont overlook Obama’s record for the same reason. Everyone was watching them both and they both did the same damn thing.
