One word says it all to me. ObamaCare. Purported to provide medical care to each American, and every person illegally in the United States, was born out of an altruistic idea and has gone down hill from there.
Before I start ranting and quoting numbers let me be clear: I support giving quality medical care to those who need it, when its needed. That includes children of Illegals. The kids, after all, have no choice but to be with their parents. I do not support free medical care to those who are in this nation illegally.
There are currently 300 million(1) . Of those 15.8% (47 million people, including Illegal Aliens(2) ) do not have medical insurance, and of that 15.8%, 56.2% or 26.4 million have chosen not to seek coverage thru private plans or state/federal options (see graphic at top of post -- Those who refuse to buy it and those who feel they will never need it). That to me, leaves 20.6 million people, or 43.8% of the 47 million, to be covered by the Government (this includes 14 million, 29.8%, of the uninsured who are eligible for Medicaid but have not signed up for it. ) . Instead, ObamaCare aims to include all 300 million of us, like it or not.
Quick Facts -
- The World Health Organization ranked the United States No. 1 out of 191 countries for being responsive to patients’ needs, including providing timely treatments and a choice of doctors. Among those currently insured, 84% are satisfied with their healthcare. But if you’re happy, don’t get too comfortable: ObamaCare willforce people to change their insurance.(3)
- Congress enjoys very special perks the rest of us can only dream about. There is an attending physician on call exclusively for members of Congress, and Congress enjoys VIP access and admission to Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Medical Center. Is Congress going to provide us with VIP treatment?(3)
Why did I point those two things out? If we opt and fallow the ObamaCare plan, one of those things will change. What will change is the US ranking. What wont is that members of Congress will still have private, non public option, health insurance.

My Issues With ObamaCare

Wait, wait, wait,… are those figures in the cartoon accurate?? More than 25 MILLION CHOOSE NOT to have health insurance and the government wants to force me to pay to cover them too? Something is wrong here! Don’t get me started on the illegal aliens (but I would help the kids)
Yep, the figures were accurate as of the date of the post. The data came from the Census Bureau.
I’m with you on the kids.
