This is American Hostage, a blog by a disaffected American Voter.
The concept for the blog started with the passage of the pork laden Wall Street bailout bill. My dissatisfaction has only grown from there.
Each political party is culpable in the current political and economic crisis. Each party has failed its members and they have failed the American People.
Our government is supposed to be a government by the people, for the people. It has turned into a government by the politicos, neocons, insiders, lobbyists and rich of, by and for themselves and their friends.
I am not a professional writer and I have never made that claim. This blog is where I will be pouring my passion and getting my political feelings off my chest.

I am calling for change, real and profound change. I am calling for a revolution and reformation of our system.
My personal beliefs are -
- Religiously liberal (I grew up in an ELCA church).
- For anyone to be able to marry anyone (of legal age).
- Provide health care to those who cannot obtain it or are unable to obtain it due to financial or ‘preexisting conditions’. That does not extend to Illegals as they don’t pay into the system. Kids of illegals, yes as they don’t have a choice but to be here.
- Limited Government. Not expanding Government.
