Portland, Oregon is no stranger to acts of domestic terrorism. The most frequent acts committed are by extremist animal rights groups (ELF, PETA, ALF) against furriers and the Oregon Health Science University’s (OHSU) Oregon National Primate Research Center.
The United States is unique in how it holds laws and the weight it gives treaties it ascribes to. As a result, the US needs to be very diligent in what treaties it does sign.

That was the title to Star Trek VI and was an allegory to United States – Soviet/Russian relations. I watched it again today and it hit me, that where we are in America today. Only its not The United States’ relationship with another country. Its the divided US Electorate and Health Insurance Reform.
The liberals, at least during the horrible, horrible Bush years, said that they had a right to protest and that ‘Dissent is Patriotic’. Its funny then, all these years (okay, months later) that if you oppose Health Insurance Reform, or the Obama Agenda in general, you are a threat to National Security.
